Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to promote independence and prevent injury
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and promptly
- Communicate changes in resident condition to nurses and the care team in a clear, timely way
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive safe, dignified dining support
- Document care activities in the chart/EMR with attention to accuracy and confidentiality
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and their families
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required) — must be eligible to work in North Carolina or already licensed
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Able to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Comfortable with lifting and assisting residents; strong attention to safety and infection control
- Friendly, patient-focused attitude and good communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
- Proficient with taking and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
- Familiarity with safe patient transfer and positioning techniques
- Basic documentation skills and ability to learn electronic medical records
- Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills
