Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents: bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to the nursing team
- Assist with meal service and ensure residents' dietary needs are met with dignity
- Support daily living activities to promote independence and a positive experience
- Document care activities accurately and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver excellent care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — North Carolina preferred or eligible to transfer
- Active basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Reliable background check and up-to-date immunizations (facility requirement)
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus but enthusiastic new CNAs are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and resident assistance best practices
- Skill in safe patient transfers and use of mobility equipment
- Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
- Comfortable with electronic or paper charting and shift documentation
