Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to geriatric residents
• Help implement care plans and document observations accurately in resident records
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification required or willing to obtain
• Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required immunizations
• Approachable, patient, and team-oriented with strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational knowledge of geriatric care and age-related conditions
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Strong observational skills and clear, timely communication
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for resident dignity
