Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with dignity and respect
• Provide compassionate personal care and comfort to support resident well-being
• Take and document vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Communicate clearly with nurses, therapists and families to ensure coordinated care
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
• Document resident care timely and accurately in facility records to keep teams aligned

Qualifications

• Current state Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain
• Proof of required immunizations and TB testing as per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Comfortable standing and moving for the full length of the shift
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but enthusiastic new grads welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved state CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs, patient hygiene and basic bedside care
• Familiarity with taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
• Basic understanding of infection control and safety procedures
• Comfortable with electronic charting or willing to learn facility documentation systems
• Team-oriented approach and ability to follow care plans reliably

This is a travel assignment in historic Gettysburg. When you’re off shift you can explore Gettysburg National Military Park and the Visitor Center, stroll through the charming downtown with its museums, boutiques and local eateries, and visit the Eisenhower National Historic Site.
