Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident status accurately and promptly
- Support nursing staff by reporting changes in condition and participating in care plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention protocols
- Engage residents with dignity and respect, promoting independence and comfort
- Document care and observations clearly in the facility charting system
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (valid in Pennsylvania)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Comfortable assisting with lifts/transfers and working as part of a team
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
- Previous long-term care or rehab experience preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and successful certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care tasks and safe patient handling
- Familiarity with infection control, standard precautions, and resident safety
- Accurate charting and documentation practices
- Good observational skills to notice changes in condition
- Team-oriented attitude and clear communication with nurses and family members
