Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility to preserve dignity
- Monitor and document vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and practice excellent infection control
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Contribute to patient comfort and emotional support during their stay
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Valid CNA credential in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain state authorization
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
- Previous long-term care or acute care CNA experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Electronic or paper charting fundamentals
- Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize patient needs
- Customer service mindset when interacting with patients and families
