Shift Type: Rotating nights, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC; schedule created in 6-week blocks with 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; guaranteed 36 hours/week; travelers expected to float across Zone 3 (may include OrthoColorado, Longmont United, St. Anthony Lakewood, St. Anthony North).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to ICU patients across multiple acuity levels (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU)
• Titrate and manage critical drips (pressors, sedation, paralytics, heparin, insulin, antiarrhythmics) with confidence and accuracy
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and manage complex cardiac rhythms independently
• Assist with ventilator and high-flow respiratory troubleshooting and collaborate with RTs for optimal respiratory care
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining clear and timely Epic documentation
• Float between units within the zone as needed to support staffing and patient needs
• Serve as a reliable team member during high-acuity events and escalate to intensivists/hospitalists when appropriate

Qualifications

• Current RN license (able to submit license for assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; first-time travel nurses must have 3+ years ICU experience and Epic experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Comfortable titrating critical drips and managing hemodynamically unstable patients
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills and ventilator/high-flow familiarity
• Ability to float across ICU/PCU/Stepdown and other regional facilities as needed
• Willingness to work night shifts and meet weekend/holiday rotation expectations

Education

• Active RN license required
• ADN or diploma acceptable; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing fundamentals and advanced ICU interventions
• Titration of vasoactive and sedative infusions
• Ventilator management basics and respiratory troubleshooting (Vents, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow)
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Epic charting and documentation workflows
• Crisis management, prioritization, and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Ability to adapt quickly when floating to different units and equipment
