Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to a diverse ICU population (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU)
• Manage ventilators and assist with respiratory troubleshooting alongside RTs
• Titrate critical drips safely and confidently, including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin and insulin
• Deliver bedside care for high-acuity therapies such as CRRT, IABP and Impella
• Interpret telemetry and monitor cardiac rhythms independently (no monitor tech on unit)
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Float between units within Zone 4 as needed, supporting staffing and patient needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote patient safety and positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Kansas or compact eligible) required to submit
• BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and TNCC required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (3+ years ICU + EPIC experience if you are a first-time traveler)
• Comfortable titrating critical drips and managing ventilators
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and high-acuity critical care
• Professional, flexible attitude — travelers must float across a 60-mile zone and help fill schedule gaps

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or nursing diploma required; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing and critical care fundamentals
• Ventilator management (Vents, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow)
• Titrating drips and managing pressors, sedatives, paralytics and antiarrhythmics
• CRRT knowledge and care for patients on advanced circulatory support (IABP, Impella)
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• EPIC charting and clinical documentation
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization and teamwork in high-acuity situations
• Ability to float between ICU, PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele units
