Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care across combination ICUs (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU) with attention to safe, evidence-based practice
• Manage complex ventilator care and assist in respiratory troubleshooting alongside RT staff
• Titrate critical drips safely including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently and respond to rhythm changes
• Deliver CRRT and other advanced therapies with close attention to patient stability and device management
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Float between units and sister facilities within the zone to support staffing needs and broaden your clinical exposure
• Step into charge or support roles when needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to submit) and eligibility to practice in the coverage state
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• If first-time travel nurse: 3+ years of ICU experience and EPIC experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications required
• Comfortable with titrating critical drips, ventilator management, and reading telemetry independently
• Ability to float within a 60-mile zone and obtain housing that allows for that flexibility

Education

• Nursing degree required; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care and ICU best practices
• Drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• Mechanical ventilation basics and troubleshooting
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting system
• Familiarity with CRRT, IABP, Impella, and other high-acuity supports
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork while floating across units
