Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
- Provide compassionate support during meals, transfers, and personal care
- Document patient interactions and care activities clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with nurses and healthcare providers to maintain a safe, clean environment
- Promote patient dignity and independence through respectful, patient-centered care
- Respond calmly and professionally in urgent situations and notify providers as needed
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or eligible to obtain in North Carolina)
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Reliable, patient-focused approach with strong communication skills
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and infection control
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and recognize changes in condition
- Strong documentation and observational skills
- Comfortable assisting with mobility, transfers, and use of patient lifts
- Teamwork, empathy, and clear communication with patients and families
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
