Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Provide compassionate support during meals, transfers, and personal care
• Document patient interactions and care activities clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with nurses and healthcare providers to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Promote patient dignity and independence through respectful, patient-centered care
• Respond calmly and professionally in urgent situations and notify providers as needed

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or eligible to obtain in North Carolina)
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Reliable, patient-focused approach with strong communication skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and infection control
• Ability to take accurate vital signs and recognize changes in condition
• Strong documentation and observational skills
• Comfortable assisting with mobility, transfers, and use of patient lifts
• Teamwork, empathy, and clear communication with patients and families
• Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
