Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on direct care to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Document resident care clearly and promptly to maintain continuity and quality
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
- Help create a warm, welcoming environment that supports residents’ emotional well-being
Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification — NH required; VT acceptable if applicable to region
- Completion of a state-approved LNA program or equivalent training
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Local candidates only, as this assignment is for nearby staff
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited/state-approved LNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in resident personal care, infection control, and safety protocols
- Comfortable performing routine clinical tasks such as dressing changes and toileting assistance
- Able to observe, identify, and report changes in resident condition
- Familiarity with documentation best practices and following care plans
- Good time management, organization, and teamwork skills
