Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and compassion
- Measure and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Provide safe, attentive mobility assistance and fall-prevention support
- Create warm, person-centered interactions to boost residents’ comfort and morale
- Maintain clean, organized resident areas and follow infection control protocols
- Communicate effectively with team members and participate in shift handoffs
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications
- GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (immunizations/TB test)
- Comfortable working evening shifts and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with strong communication skills
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for assigned shifts
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA/CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience supporting geriatric residents with activities of daily living
- Knowledge of basic clinical observations (vitals, skin checks, mobility cues)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting resident relationships
- Basic documentation skills and ability to follow care plans
- Awareness of infection control and safety best practices
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to take direction from licensed nursing staff
