Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient condition changes
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate excellent patient care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility safety protocols
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and participate in handoff communication

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (license verification required)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required (stroke assessment competency)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (facility will consider demonstrated competence)
• Willingness to work weekend schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
• Required health screenings and immunizations: fit test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical assessment and clinical decision-making
• Comfortable with medication administration and IV care
• Proficiency with documentation and clinical workflows
• Skilled in patient and family education and effective communication
• Familiarity with stroke assessment using NIHSS
• Team-oriented approach and ability to work in fast-paced settings
• Adherence to infection prevention and safety best practices
