Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night). Day shifts: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM (3x12-hour blocks); Night shifts: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM (3x12-hour blocks). Typically weekdays with some weekends; up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week period (Saturday/Sunday for day shifts, Friday/Saturday for night shifts). Rotating holidays; float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed. No call.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based cardiac critical care to adult CVICU patients
- Manage advanced hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz/Pulmonary Artery lines
- Operate and manage ventilators and high-flow devices for respiratory support
- Start and maintain IVs, central lines, arterial lines and manage blood product administration
- Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips safely and monitor patient responses
- Care for patients on mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, LVAD) and ECMO when applicable
- Provide post-cardiac surgery care including CABG, valve procedures, TAVR and transplant patients
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
- Respond to dysrhythmias and participate in emergency cardiac interventions
Qualifications
- Current RN license appropriate for practice in Ohio (state licensure required)
- BLS required (must be current)
- ACLS required (must be current)
- Epic charting experience required
- Minimum ~2 years of Cardiac ICU/CVICU experience preferred
- Demonstrated skills: IV start, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line care, conscious sedation, balloon pump management
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac critical care and hemodynamic monitoring
- Ventilator management and advanced respiratory support (HFNC, trach care, suctioning)
- Mechanical circulatory support: ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD familiarity
- CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management
- Chest tube care and post-operative cardiac surgery management
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency cardiac response
- Central/arterial line management, PICC care, blood product administration
- Comfortable using Epic for charting and interdisciplinary communication
