Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents to promote dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing and care team
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care delivered and resident observations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or state equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain shortly after hire
• Experience working with older adults, strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility requirements
• Physical ability to assist with resident mobility and perform hands-on care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and observing changes in resident status
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
• Effective teamwork and communication with nurses, therapists and families
• Compassion, patience and the ability to build rapport with residents
• Basic infection prevention and safety practices
