Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition accurately
• Support safe transfers and mobility while using proper body mechanics
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document care in the resident record promptly and professionally
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Promote dignity and independence while delivering respectful care

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lift and assist residents safely
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; compassionate bedside manner
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (facility-specific onboarding requirements may apply)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA program or state-recognized GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Basic knowledge of vital signs and monitoring changes in condition
• Familiarity with dementia care principles and person-centered approaches
• Good documentation and charting practices
• Infection prevention and safe handling techniques
• Ability to follow care plans and direction from nursing staff
• Time management and prioritization in a busy care environment
• Respectful communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
