Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve independence with activities of daily living
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and achieve measurable patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, home programs, and community resources
- Document patient progress thoroughly and communicate updates during team meetings and handoffs
- Recommend and train on adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to maximize safety and function
Qualifications
- Current state occupational therapy license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Maine
- NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
- Clinical experience in inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, or post-acute settings is a plus
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
Education
- Entry-level Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven knowledge of evaluation techniques, treatment planning, and ADL training
- Skilled in adaptive equipment selection, activity modification, and safety assessments
- Comfortable with clear, timely documentation and outcome-driven care
- Effective communicator with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Able to prioritize caseloads and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced rehab environment
