Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ mobility, functional limitations and rehabilitation needs with clear, evidence-based assessments
• Develop individualized treatment plans that set measurable goals and track progress
• Deliver hands-on therapy, exercise instruction, and therapeutic modalities to restore function
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety strategies and long-term management
• Participate in team meetings, discharge planning and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapy license in Maine or eligible to obtain state licensure prior to start
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or able to obtain quickly)
• Experience in outpatient, post-acute or contract settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and manual therapy skills
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to manage documentation and meet productivity expectations for a travel assignment

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master's in Physical Therapy considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in creating and implementing individualized rehab plans
• Proficient with common documentation systems and charting best practices
• Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, gait training and assistive device prescription
• Ability to perform manual therapy and therapeutic modalities safely
• Strong patient education and motivational skills
• Team-oriented mindset and effective interdisciplinary communication
