Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care for trauma, STEMI, and stroke activations
• Perform rapid triage and assessment, initiating life-saving interventions when needed
• Establish and manage IV therapy and advanced cardiac care using ACLS protocols
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate timely patient transfers and care pathways
• Champion patient safety initiatives, core measures, and National Patient Safety Goals
• Communicate compassionately with patients and families using AIDET best practices
• Float to other units as needed while maintaining clinical competency and patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by the start of assignment (travelers must apply immediately upon acceptance)
• Minimum of more than 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience (emergency preferred)
• Mandatory certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Proficient IV therapy skills and comfort with trauma/STEMI/stroke activations
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt to variable shift schedules
• Ability to float to other units as assigned, within clinical competency
• NCI and Procedural Sedation training requested but not mandatory

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing principles including trauma, STEMI, and stroke care
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR for documentation and clinical workflows
• Experience with LifePak defibrillators, Braun IV pumps, and Philips monitoring systems
• Clear, timely communication via Motorola radio systems and with interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with core measures, AIDET, and strategies to support Press Ganey outcomes
• Strong multitasking, critical thinking, and independent decision-making skills
