Shift Type: Night shifts (schedule varies), 7:00 PM - 7:15 AM NOC, 12-hour nights with a 36-hour guarantee (typically 3x12 shifts/week)

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients using a thorough nursing assessment and document findings accurately in the patient chart
- Develop individualized plans of care based on patient assessment and best-practice guidelines
- Implement nursing interventions and ensure documentation of care delivered
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions and update the plan of care accordingly
- Oversee and delegate aspects of the patient plan of care to unit staff, providing clear direction and supervision
- Collaborate with the Med-Surg Nurse Manager and multidisciplinary team to support excellent patient outcomes
- Accept responsibility for guiding co-workers in the consistent implementation of patient care standards
Qualifications
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be current and active
- Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience (required)
- Orthopedics experience (required)
- BLS (AHA) certification (required)
- Recent travel nurse experience highly preferred
- Two supervisory references completed within the last two years as part of submission
- Up-to-date skills checklist (within 1 year) and complete work history required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong nursing assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Care planning and implementation using the nursing process
- Skilled in patient documentation and charting with attention to detail
- Experience delegating and supervising unit staff effectively
- Med-Surg and orthopedic nursing knowledge, including post-op and rehab care
- Comfort working night shift and independently managing patient loads
