Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to adult patients, maintaining safe patient ratios (1:5-6)
• Continuously monitor telemetry and respond to rhythm changes and patient alarms promptly
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and safe discharge
• Float within scope between like units to meet facility needs and maintain continuity of care
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and workflow
• Maintain required certifications and follow hospital policies for clinical best practices

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH certification required
• Experience with Epic charting is required
• Willingness to float to like units as needed and to work every-other-weekend
• First-time travel nurses accepted, so new travel RN applicants are welcome

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Solid medical-surgical assessment and critical thinking
• Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting skills
• Ability to manage 1:5-6 patient ratios safely and effectively
• Comfort working in a Level III trauma center and teaching hospital environment
• Team-oriented communication and the ability to adapt to changing patient needs
