Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ functional abilities and occupational performance through skilled evaluation
- Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on meaningful daily activities
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve independence in ADLs and IADLs
- Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, physicians, and families to ensure cohesive care
- Document progress, outcomes, and discharge planning clearly and on time
- Educate patients and caregivers on strategies and adaptive equipment for long-term success
- Advocate for patient-centered goals and safe transitions across care settings
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in North Carolina or ability to obtain NC licensure promptly
- Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Experience in inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation settings preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a positive, patient-focused attitude
Education
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in occupational therapy evaluations and individualized treatment planning
- Proficient with ADL/IADL training, splinting, therapeutic modalities, and adaptive equipment
- Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic medical records
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage patients and families in care planning
