Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional abilities and occupational performance through skilled evaluation
• Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on meaningful daily activities
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve independence in ADLs and IADLs
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, physicians, and families to ensure cohesive care
• Document progress, outcomes, and discharge planning clearly and on time
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies and adaptive equipment for long-term success
• Advocate for patient-centered goals and safe transitions across care settings

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in North Carolina or ability to obtain NC licensure promptly
• Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Experience in inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation settings preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a positive, patient-focused attitude

Education

• Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in occupational therapy evaluations and individualized treatment planning
• Proficient with ADL/IADL training, splinting, therapeutic modalities, and adaptive equipment
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic medical records
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage patients and families in care planning
