Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality care and implementing treatment plans
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercise, gait training, and transfer training
• Monitor and document patient progress, communicating changes to the supervising PT
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety, and independence strategies
• Prepare treatment areas, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe therapeutic environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient-centered goals
• Contribute to discharge planning and help patients transition safely to their next level of care

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in New Jersey (or eligible to obtain state license)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Experience in outpatient, rehab, or related settings preferred
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Reliable, professional demeanor with excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise techniques and functional mobility training
• Skilled in gait training, transfers, and safe patient handling
• Ability to follow treatment plans and modify interventions under PT supervision
• Solid documentation and charting abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and family communication
• Comfortable using standard rehab modalities and adaptive equipment
