Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care for residents — assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Take and record vital signs accurately and promptly
• Support safe transfers and mobility, helping residents remain as independent as possible
• Communicate changes in resident condition to nursing staff clearly and professionally
• Document care activities thoroughly to ensure continuity and quality
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required) — must be valid for work in North Carolina
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in basic patient care and activities of daily living
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and intake/output
• Knowledge of infection prevention and safe transfer techniques
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes to nursing staff
• Good time management and organizational skills under a busy schedule
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
