Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care for residents — assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Take and record vital signs accurately and promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility, helping residents remain as independent as possible
- Communicate changes in resident condition to nursing staff clearly and professionally
- Document care activities thoroughly to ensure continuity and quality
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required) — must be valid for work in North Carolina
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and intake/output
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe transfer techniques
- Ability to follow care plans and report changes to nursing staff
- Good time management and organizational skills under a busy schedule
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
