Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy plans
- Deliver purposeful therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care
- Train patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and use of adaptive equipment
- Document progress, goals, and discharge plans clearly and timely in the medical record
- Educate families and staff to support safe transitions and maximize patient independence
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR) or eligible for licensure — ability to obtain state licensure as required
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab setting and adapting to patient needs
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and teamwork mindset
- Travel/contract experience is a plus but not required
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (entry-level Master's or OTD preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment, treatment planning, and ADL training
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, adaptive equipment, and splinting basics
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and outcome measurement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and teams
- Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time effectively
