Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for geriatric residents
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention measures
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and changes in resident condition
• Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
• Communicate clearly with nurses, therapists, and family members to support coordinated care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control best practices
• Support residents emotionally and socially to promote dignity and quality of life

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or equivalent training as required by the state
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting geriatric needs
• Must be able to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Reliable, punctual, and able to lift/assist residents as needed
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or completion of a recognized nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with activities of daily living assistance and safe patient handling
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Understanding of infection control and resident safety practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills with clinical staff and families
• Basic charting and ability to follow care plans accurately
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience for geriatric care
