Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care on Med-Surg and Emergency Department units, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist nursing staff with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient status accurately, escalating concerns to RNs promptly
• Support efficient ED flow by preparing rooms, transporting patients, and assisting with triage tasks
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and handoffs to promote safe continuity of care
• Adhere to infection control standards and hospital policies to keep patients and staff safe
• Collaborate with the care team to help create positive patient experiences during often stressful visits

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Colorado CNA certification required
• BLS certification required and current
• Previous experience in Med-Surg and/or Emergency Department settings preferred
• Comfortable working variable shifts including nights and occasional weekends
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a patient-first attitude
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care and ADL assistance
• Vital signs monitoring and documentation
• Infection prevention and safe patient handling
• ED support tasks and familiarity with fast-paced environments
• Clear communication and teamwork under pressure
• Basic charting and handoff practices
