Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate occupational therapy assistance under the supervision of an OTR to help patients regain independence
- Implement individualized treatment plans and document patient progress accurately
- Deliver therapeutic activities and adaptive techniques to improve daily living skills
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate exceptional patient care
- Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies for safer living
- Maintain timely, compliant clinical documentation and participate in care planning meetings
Qualifications
- Current COTA credential in good standing
- Montana licensure or eligibility to obtain Montana OTA licensure prior to start
- Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Professional, patient-centered communication skills and ability to work on a team
- Background check and required immunizations as per client policy
- Prior experience in rehabilitation or similar clinical settings is preferred
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques for ADLs and functional mobility
- Skilled in documentation, treatment planning and measuring patient outcomes
- Strong interpersonal and patient education skills
- Ability to adapt interventions for a variety of diagnoses and age groups
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment and home safety recommendations
- Comfort working within an interdisciplinary team and following established protocols
