Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care during 12-hour night shifts
• Perform rapid triage, assessment, and stabilization of emergency patients
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and provide advanced life support as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Participate in unit safety, quality improvement, and infection control initiatives
• Provide coverage across both hospital campuses as required

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to hold Louisiana licensure or appropriate compact license recommended)
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred and highly valued
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and adaptable to campus coverage
• Strong critical thinking and ability to perform under pressure

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid triage and acute care skills for fast-paced ED environments
• Proficiency in medication administration, IV therapy, and emergency interventions
• Familiarity with emergency protocols, code response, and stabilization techniques
• Clear, calm communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Good clinical documentation and basic computer/EHR navigation skills
• Team-oriented mindset and commitment to patient safety
