Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med-Surg and Orthopedics patients during the night shift
• Assess patients regularly and implement individualized care plans that support recovery and mobility
• Administer medications, manage post-operative care, and monitor for complications with attention to detail
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families on post-op care, wound management, pain control, and discharge instructions
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and escalate when necessary

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact multistate RN license
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and other specialty certifications a plus
• Comfortable caring for Med-Surg and Orthopedics patients, including post-op orthopedics
• Dependable, team-oriented, with strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy skills
• Clean background and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Post-operative orthopedic care, including wound care and mobility support
• Medication administration and IV management
• Familiarity with electronic charting and documentation best practices
• Strong communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff and families
• Ability to prioritize and manage a fast-paced night shift
