Shift Type: Every other weekend plus two weekdays, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Night (12-hour nights; client operates on a Sunday-Saturday schedule so shifts may include Saturday or Sunday plus two weekdays; 36 hours/week guaranteed, up to 48 hours available; must be willing to float to units as needed)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care including bathing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene
- Perform resident transfers and use mechanical lifts or transfer belts per plan of care
- Obtain and record resident vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse) per licensed nurse direction
- Assist residents with feeding and transport to dining areas
- Turn, reposition and maintain range of motion for assigned residents
- Conduct resident rounds and respond promptly to call lights and alarms
- Document care, resident response, incidents and changes in status in the electronic charting system
- Participate in care planning and communicate condition changes to the charge nurse
- Follow infection control and safety policies and complete assigned in-service training
Qualifications
- Active Michigan CNA license (must be current on the state registry) - required
- BLS (AHA) certification - required
- Minimum 1 year CNA/PCT/LNA experience in LTC, SNF, or Med-Surg - required
- At least one completed travel assignment previously - required (note on work history)
- RTO (return to office) cannot exceed 5 days once offer is made - required compliance
- COVID vaccination preferred (if declining, must wear a mask) - preferred
- Ability to maintain regular, timely attendance and be available beyond scheduled shifts when needed
Education
- Active CNA certification (Michigan CNA license required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Resident care fundamentals: bathing, feeding, toileting and hygiene assistance
- Safe transfers and use of mechanical lifts and transfer belts
- Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observation
- Electronic charting and documentation best practices
- Infection control procedures and resident safety protocols
- Care planning participation and effective communication with nursing staff
- Ability to work in a long term care environment with pets on site (dogs, cats, aviary birds)
