Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the operating room for a wide range of surgical specialties
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field and assist the surgical team as a circulating or scrub nurse when needed
• Chart accurately and timely in Cerner to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Participate in orientation, complete required MyJourney modules, and learn the TEAM timekeeping system
• Support unit operations by taking charge nurse duties when assigned and helping coordinate patient flow
• Assist with specialty cases including robotics, endoscopy, vascular, urology, ENT, orthopedics and podiatry
• Collaborate with OR techs, anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain required certifications and stay current on best practices in acute and perioperative care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for submission
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (perioperative/acute care preferred)
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required; PALS listed as required in job details
• CNOR certification preferred but not required
• Prior experience with Cerner EMR strongly preferred
• Comfortable with call and weekend rotations and flexible scheduling
• Able to complete orientation and required training modules prior to start

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing skills including circulating and scrub assistance
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical record charting
• Familiarity with robotics-assisted surgery and endoscopy workflows
• Knowledge of a broad range of surgical specialties: general, vascular, urology, ENT, ortho, podiatry
• Acute care assessment and critical thinking skills in fast-paced OR environments
• Effective communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary surgical teams
