Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, schedule varies with every-other-weekend required and holiday rotation; nights are primary and you may float (Tele/ED ICU/Tele holds)

Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity critical care for ICU patients, including neuro and cardiac cases, sepsis, and post-PCI care
- Manage ventilators and titrate drips such as vasopressors, sedatives, and antiarrhythmics under established protocols
- Interpret ECG strips and monitor telemetry as RNs read and act on their own leads
- Serve as Charge Nurse or Resource RN as scheduled, coordinating patient flow and team assignments when needed
- Perform thorough bedside and huddle reports to ensure safe, seamless handoffs
- Collaborate with in-house intensivists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy to deliver 24/7 acute care
- Precept and onboard new staff during orientation days, supporting unit standards and safety practices
- Adhere to unit policies including infection control and professional grooming standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to practice in California)
- Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experience; 3 years preferred for higher-level roles
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required; CCRN preferred
- Comfortable with 12-hour shifts including night coverage and weekend rotation
- Experienced with ventilator management, vasopressor/drip management, and ECG interpretation
- Ability to function as Charge Nurse or Resource RN, including assignment coordination and clinical leadership
- Willingness to follow unit orientation and precepting structure
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care nursing skills for ICU-level diagnoses including neuro, cardiac, sepsis, TBI, and post-PCI care
- Proficiency with Cerner charting and documentation workflows
- Ventilator management and respiratory collaboration with RT 24/7
- Advanced cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation
- Drip/vasopressor titration and infusion management
- Familiarity with Camino ICP monitoring, telemetry, and invasive monitoring concepts
- Excellent communication for bedside report, huddle report, and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Adaptability to float across Tele and ED ICU/Tele settings
