Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, bedside neonatal care in a Level 3 NICU for infants from 22 weeks to term
• Deliver safe ventilator management and respiratory support using Draeger, high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide when indicated
• Administer and monitor IV therapies and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) with strong IV skills
• Use Cerner EMR (plus HUGS security and breast milk bridge add-on) for accurate charting and breastmilk scanning
• Interpret telemetry from Phillips monitors and escalate arrhythmias to NNP/MD as needed
• Participate in couplet care in Postpartum and float to Pediatrics as staffing requires
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including RT and pharmacy available 24/7, to optimize patient outcomes
• Complete all required MyJourney modules prior to arrival and finish floor-specific orientation (2 shifts)

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (able to work in California)
• Minimum 2 years of neonatal nursing experience or NICU clinical experience
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS
• Hands-on experience with Cerner charting system (required)
• Strong IV skills and experience with TPN administration
• Comfortable managing high-acuity preemies, sepsis cases, drug withdrawal (NAS) babies and respiratory support
• Ability and willingness to float to Pediatrics and Postpartum and provide couplet care
• Completion of employer-specific MyJourney modules prior to start

Education

• Active RN license (California); BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner EMR, HUGS security, and breast milk bridge workflow
• Experience with ventilators: Draeger, high-frequency ventilation, Nava ventilation and nitric oxide
• Familiarity with Phillips telemetry monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation
• Competency with Alaris and Medfusion IV pump systems
• Strong neonatal resuscitation skills and comfort with complex IV/TPN care
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity NICU and communicating with families and surrogates
