Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the nursing team
• Efficiently document care, observations, and meal/medication assistance in resident records
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Create a welcoming environment by building rapport with residents and their families
• Maintain infection control standards and keep resident areas clean and orderly

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with interdisciplinary teams
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA/GNA program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and elder-friendly communication
• Basic patient care skills: ADLs, feeding assistance, toileting, and mobility support
• Familiarity with infection prevention and universal precautions
• Accurate documentation and time-management abilities
• Compassionate bedside manner and ability to de-escalate stressful situations
• Teamwork mindset and willingness to follow care plans
