Shift Type: Weekend day shifts, 3x12s, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Day shift) — Every Other Weekend coverage (minimum EOW)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-acuity critical care across multiple ICU settings including Neuro, CVICU, SICU, and MICU
- Safely manage ventilated patients and titrate ventilator and vasoactive settings as ordered
- Perform advanced cardiac monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias and respond to emergencies
- Start and maintain IVs, manage central/PICC lines and handle blood product administration
- Deliver skilled stroke care using NIHSS and participate in rapid stroke response
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, Pharmacy, Social Work) to optimize patient outcomes
- Adhere to infection prevention and isolation precautions to protect patients and staff
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as staffing needs require, maintaining adaptability and professionalism
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years ICU/critical care nursing experience
- Active RN license valid for practice in Ohio (credentials guidance available)
- BLS and ACLS required
- NIHSS certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record
- Demonstrated experience with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
- Teaching hospital experience required; previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment skills and experience with multi-system organ dysfunction
- Ventilator management and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Familiarity with advanced lines and devices: arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, EVD/ICP monitoring, lumbar drains
- Competence in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation/paralytics
- Ability to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs and manage dysrhythmias
- Skilled in infection prevention, isolation precautions, and surgical wound care (including Wound VAC)
- Comfortable with emergency procedures, sheath removal, and post-cardiac surgery care
- Flexible floater mindset: quick learner, strong communication, and teamwork across ICU specialties
