Shift Type: Rotating night schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night); weekends required; specific days vary and may include floats between campuses

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical ventilation and perform ventilator troubleshooting to optimize patient respiratory support
- Provide airway management including suctioning, tracheostomy care, and extubation when appropriate
- Deliver aerosol and nebulizer therapies and manage oxygen delivery systems including HFNC, CPAP, and BiPAP
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) to guide clinical decisions and communicate findings to the care team
- Administer respiratory-related medications safely and document interventions accurately
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
- Provide patient and family education about respiratory treatments and home-care needs when applicable
- Float between campuses as needed while maintaining high standards of care and adaptability
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy clinical experience
- High School Diploma required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
- Ohio state respiratory license preferred or active state licensure
- BLS required; ACLS, CRT preferred
- Comfort with adult critical care and emergency settings; travel experience is a plus but not required
- Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and float between campuses as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Education
- High School Diploma (required)
- RRT certification (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management including GE ventilators (GE 860 preferred)
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), CPAP, BiPAP setup and management
- Airway suctioning, tracheostomy care, extubation, and pulmonary hygiene
- Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and application to therapy adjustments
- Nebulizer systems, MDI techniques, and aerosol delivery methods
- Medication administration for respiratory agents (albuterol, atrovent, nitric oxide, etc.)
- Troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Strong documentation skills and teamwork in large academic medical center settings
