Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care to SICU patients, applying sharp clinical judgment and evidence-based practice
• Monitor and manage advanced hemodynamic devices and lines including arterial lines and central lines
• Perform and assist with procedures such as intubation support, chest tube management, NG tube placement and wound/dressing care
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient plans
• Document patient status and interventions accurately using Meditech and communicate changes promptly
• Respond to emergencies with composure, initiating ACLS protocols when indicated and coordinating care

Qualifications

• Active TX RN License required (temporary license will not be accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience (SICU/MICU/MSICU experience preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• Comfortable with advanced ICU therapies such as CRRT and IABP exposure preferred
• Ability to float per Methodist Floating Policy and follow unit guidelines including punctual badging in/out

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills in high-acuity settings
• Experience with Meditech electronic documentation
• Competence with arterial lines, central line management and titratable drips
• Familiarity with chest tube management, intubation support, NG/FT placement and Foley care
• Exposure to CRRT and IABP is a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced ICU environments
