Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care for adults in the ICU
• Assess, monitor, and document complex patient conditions using clinical judgment
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic support, and infusion therapies according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge needs with compassion
• Participate in unit-based safety and quality improvement initiatives to better patient outcomes
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and escalate appropriately

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure (able to practice in Louisiana) or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience as stated in the posting
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfort with ventilators, vasoactive drips, and advanced monitoring
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of critical care principles and ICU protocols
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency with medication administration and titration of infusion therapies
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to navigate electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Calm under pressure and able to make rapid, evidence-based decisions
