Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for laboring patients and families
• Perform and interpret fetal monitoring to support safe delivery decisions
• Administer and manage medications and procedures such as MgSO4 and nitrous oxide as indicated
• Assist and circulate in OR for obstetric procedures, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
• Respond to postpartum hemorrhage and other emergencies using established protocols
• Document care accurately in CPN/Meditech to ensure continuity and compliance
• Collaborate with midwives, CRNAs, neonatologists and OB providers to personalize birth plans
• Support couplet care to keep mom and baby together and promote breastfeeding

Qualifications

• Active RN credential (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (as listed)
• Current ACLS, BLS and NRP certification (required)
• Fetal monitoring certification (required)
• Hands-on experience with Labor & Delivery procedures: IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management
• Comfort circulating in the OR and supporting high-risk deliveries
• Experience with documentation systems such as CPN and Meditech
• Spinning Babies and STABLE training are a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring interpretation and maternal assessment skills
• Proficiency with IUPC and FSE placement and troubleshooting
• Ability to manage obstetric emergencies and use JADA or unit-specific hemorrhage systems
• Skilled in newborn couplet care and basic NICU collaboration
• Unit teamwork, clear communication, and patient-centered advocacy
• Familiarity with electronic charting in Meditech and CPN
