Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor complex cardiac and medical patients, interpreting telemetry and trends
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and families to create and execute care plans
• Perform timely, thorough assessments and document findings in the patient record
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns when needed
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - KY licensure or compact RN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care or PCU/step-down experience
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated comfort with telemetry monitoring and higher-acuity patients
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• IV/infusion pump management and medication administration safety
• Patient assessment skills for progressive care populations
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clear documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment
