Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality abdominal and obstetric ultrasound exams that inform clinical care
- Capture and document diagnostic images in Meditech with attention to detail
- Operate and maintain GE ultrasound equipment to ensure safe, reliable imaging
- Assist with image-guided procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis and FNA when requested
- Communicate results and patient information clearly to radiologists and care teams
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while educating patients about procedures
- Maintain imaging standards by applying ultrasound physics and quality control practices
Qualifications
- ARDMS certification in Abdomen and Ultrasound Physics required
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience as stated in the posting
- Proven experience with abdominal (ABD) and obstetric (OB) exams
- Comfortable performing or assisting with procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis and FNA
- Experience using GE ultrasound equipment and documenting in Meditech EMR
- Friendly, team-oriented attitude that fits well with a 5-person imaging staff
Education
- ARDMS Abdomen certification and Ultrasound Physics certification (passing both required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics and imaging principles
- Skilled in abdominal and obstetric sonography techniques
- Familiarity with image-guided procedural support (para, thora, FNA)
- Proficient with GE ultrasound systems and transducer selection
- Comfortable using Meditech EMR for imaging documentation and workflows
- Excellent patient communication and clinical collaboration skills
