Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care to long term care residents
- Perform thorough assessments and develop timely care interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely following facility policies
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the charting system
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility-specific procedures
- Participate in required competency testing including Trinity specialty assessments
- Complete required screenings and health documentation to maintain compliance
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Michigan or eligible for license verification
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience working in long term care settings preferred
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing as required
- Must complete required health clearances: Fit Test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, Trinity 10 panel drug screen, and physical/health statement
Education
- Active RN license required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred where available
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in geriatric care
- Medication administration and documentation accuracy
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and charting systems
- Effective communication with residents, families, and care teams
- Ability to work independently in a per diem role and adapt to varied assignments
