Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, resident-centered nursing care in a long-term care setting.
- Assess residents’ conditions, develop plans of care, and respond to changes quickly and thoughtfully.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately in the medical record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care and support family communication.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure immunization and TB testing compliance.
- Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and participate in required health screenings and evaluations.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Michigan license preferred or eligible).
- BLS certification required.
- Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or similar settings is preferred.
- Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, influenza/COVID/MMR/hep B/varicella/Tdap as applicable, and a Trinity 10-panel drug screen.
- Willingness to complete Trinity-specific competency testing and respirator evaluation.
Education
- Nursing diploma/Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred where available.
- Must meet educational requirements for RN licensure in the state of practice.
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of long-term care practices, resident safety, and infection control.
- Familiarity with immunization compliance, TB testing (PPD/IGRA), and respirator fit testing.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and care teams.
- Comfortable with documentation and following facility-specific competency protocols.
