Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to participants, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation)
- Support safe transfers and mobility while promoting independence and dignity
- Perform routine vital signs and observe for changes in condition; promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Follow individualized care plans and participate in care-team communication to ensure continuity
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and Trinity protocols
- Adhere to infection control practices, safety standards, and facility policies at all times
- Assist with meal service and provide respectful support during feeding and nutrition activities
- Contribute to a positive environment by communicating kindly with participants, families, and team members
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-certified; Indiana certification preferred or eligible)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Successful License/Certificate Verification prior to assignment
- Ability to pass Trinity pre-employment health requirements (see below)
- Comfort working in a per diem/pool environment and adapting to varying schedules
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to person-centered care
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding, orientation, and any required competencies
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and current state CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of ADLs and safe patient handling techniques
- Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, documenting, observing and reporting changes
- Infection control principles and proper PPE use
- Clear, compassionate communication with participants, families, and team members
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy care setting
- Teamwork mindset and responsiveness to direction from nursing staff
- Attention to detail for accurate charting and following care plans

This is a travel/contract per diem role — depending on your assignment in Indiana you can explore a lot: wander the sand dunes and lakefront at Indiana Dunes National Park, check out Indianapolis’ cultural scene (museums, live events, and great local eats), enjoy scenic state parks like Brown County for hiking and fall colors, or discover charming small towns with farmers markets and local festivals.
