Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on every shift
- Perform thorough assessments and document patient status clearly
- Administer medications and treatments safely according to policy
- Collaborate with CNAs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families with kindness and clarity about care plans
- Support unit flow by helping with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (valid in North Carolina or compact license)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS or PALS if required by unit
- Must meet facility health requirements: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap
- COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination per facility policy
- Successful Trinity 10 Panel drug screen and completed physical/health statement
- Prior acute care or long-term care experience preferred but open to dedicated RNs
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- For CNA applicants: valid CNA certification and high school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Comfortable with medication administration and common nursing procedures
- Clear and timely documentation in electronic health records
- Team-oriented communication and the ability to work independently when needed
- Compassionate bedside manner and patient education skills
- Adaptability to varied unit needs as a per diem team member
