Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
- Take and record vital signs and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Perform hands-on care while following infection control and safety procedures
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of resident care and observations
- Support mealtime assistance and nutritional/feeding needs as required
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to promote resident wellbeing
- Participate in competency testing and training to maintain high standards of care
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- License/Certificate verification and completion of Trinity-specific competency testing
- Must be able to complete required health screenings: Fit test, TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA), MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, and COVID-19 vaccine as applicable
- Clean Trinity 10 panel drug screen and physical/health statement required
- Ability to pass Trinity respirator evaluation and color vision screening as applicable
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
Education
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care best practices and infection control
- Comfortable assisting with mobility, transfers, and safe use of equipment
- Basic clinical skills including taking vitals and observing resident condition
- Reliable documentation and charting habits
- Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to the nursing team
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with older adults
