Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care and support to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Perform timely vital signs and basic clinical observations, reporting changes to nursing staff
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning while maintaining dignity and comfort
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident status
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents and staff safe
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Support a positive resident experience through respectful communication and attention to needs
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in the state of practice (valid and verifiable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Ability to pass Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen and Trinity skills checklist
- Completion of Fit Test and Trinity respirator evaluation as required
- Up-to-date immunizations and screenings: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon), MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, Influenza vaccine
- Physical/health statement and license/certificate verification on file
- Comfortable working per diem/contract travel assignments and flexible scheduling
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and current state CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care basics
- Familiarity with infection prevention and proper PPE use
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with residents and team members
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy shifts
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
