Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Measure and record vital signs and report any significant changes to nursing staff promptly
- Follow care plans and participate in implementing individualized resident interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
- Practice infection control, safety protocols, and proper use of PPE to protect residents and staff
- Support admissions, transfers, and daily routines to help the unit run smoothly
- Communicate effectively with team members and families to ensure coordinated, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state requirements must be met)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Successful license/certificate verification per employer requirements
- Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations (see job requirements)
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work per diem shifts
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an approved state CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Vital signs collection and basic clinical observation
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Accurate documentation and charting
- Effective, compassionate communication with residents and families
- Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize in a busy environment
- Safe resident transfers and mobility assistance techniques
