Roles & Responsibilities

• Dispense and verify accurate medication orders to ensure patient safety
• Provide clinical drug information and counseling to care teams
• Manage and reconcile controlled substances and narcotics inventories
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to optimize therapy
• Support medication safety initiatives and participate in quality improvement
• Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding as required by the facility
• Document interventions and maintain clear communication across shifts

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas or eligibility to obtain one quickly
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred; prior overnight or critical care experience a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility policies
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and teamwork mindset

Education

• PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication dispensing workflows and pharmacy automation systems
• Sterile compounding and IV admixture practices
• Clinical medication management and formulary processes
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and order entry systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
• Controlled substance handling and regulatory compliance
• Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
